Raw development data storage

When you Save current (option x) and close with Raw Photo Developing Options, what happens - i.e., what files are created or modified and where are they located? Are the original raw files are changed? I think this involves XMP files - can they be examined?

All Qimage edits including raw refinement are "sidecar" files and are therefore nondescructive. For raw refine, the settings are stored in a "qrs" file in the same folder as the original raw. So if you have a photo.cr2 file and you make raw refinements, there will be a photo.qrs file in the same folder.
