What about Qimage on the Mac?

Intel based Macs can run Qimage

Intel based Macs can run Qimage under either Parallels or Fusion.  We've had a lot of positive feedback from users running Qimage under Parallels and Fusion and have heard of very few problems.

Older Non-Intel based Macs can too!

Qimage will run under Virtual PC on older Mac systems.  Virtual PC is a product of Connectix corporation and can be found at http://www.connectix.com.  Please see the Connectix site for more details and system requirements. The cost of this software seems reasonable considering that it is an investment that will allow many Mac users to run not only Qimage, but a host of other applications that are PC/Windows based.  When using Virtual PC, we recommend using a generous memory partition and running full screen.

Why no native Mac support?

We have heard from a few Mac users who are wondering if we are going to support Qimage on the Mac. Although we would love to, we are a small company that simply does not have the resources to support software for two platforms. In addition, our compiler is not supported on the Mac which makes development much more difficult, requiring us to convert the code to another language.  Considering there are options that allow you to run Qimage on a Mac already (see above), our business plan does not include development on native Mac OS's.  Despite having some really nice systems (and some funny commercials), Apple really hasn't gained significantly on the PC/Windows dominance in computer market share.  If/when it does, we will certainly re-evaluate our business plans and will update this page with any further information.
