Improved user experience, touch-awareness, and bug fixes

Qimage v2010.200 (02/19/10):

ddisoftware, Inc. has just released a significant upgrade to its Qimage photo printing software.  This latest revision comes with UI (user interface) refinements that improve the overall user experience, allowing users to go from original photos to prints of optimal quality more efficiently than ever before.  We've even updated the interface to be touch-aware to support multi-touch monitors and the upcoming Windows 7 touch tablets that will appear on the market later this year.  On these devices, a simple flick of the finger can be used to "throw" thumbnails onto the print page, throw unwanted prints off the page, flip pages forward/back, etc.  This revision has also undergone a comprehensive QA review that has led to a number of bug fixes.  We know that amateurs and professionals alike depend on Qimage to produce optimal quality from their digital photos so we thank our loyal users for the opportunity to bring yet another advancement to the field of digital photo printing!

  • Fixed a bug where thumbnails would not update automatically after being edited in another program if the image had a Qimage filter.
v2010.106 12/14/09 Low v2010.106 includes the following:
  • Added a "Canvas with Wrap" option under the "Custom" size dialog to assist with all aspects of canvas printing.
  • Made an additional change to the "Filenames only" view to account for cyrillic and other alphabets in file names.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing a crash when working with photos that have extremely long path/file names close to the Windows limit of 255 (XP) or 260 (Vista/W7) characters.
v2010.105 12/10/09 Low v2010.105 includes the following:
  • Added outer fold lines for both borders when using the new "Center/Fold" marks option under "Edges".
  • Improved the "Printing Options" dialog so that spool format (raw/EMF) can be changed more reliably on Windows 7 systems.
  • Improved Windows 7 compatibility to eliminate an intermittent "range check error" under Windows 7 when printing to file or converting from the queue.
  • Changed the "show filenames only" option on the main window so that special characters (such as the cyrillic alphabet) are displayed properly in file names.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing overall print size to change when rotating a print after using the "Specify one dimension" sizing method.
v2010.104 12/01/09 Low v2010.104 includes the following:
  • Added an option to print center marks and fold marks in borders to assist with canvas wraps.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing a problem with sizing of test strips under some situations such as when specifying a test strip width that is larger than the original print size.
  • Swapped the zoom in/out of the mouse scroll wheel when using the image examiner/comparator so that it matches other software.
  • Disabled the "Canvas Edge (Stretch)" option for border 2 as the option should only be available for border 1.
v2010.103 11/24/09 Low v2010.103 fixes a bug that was causing test strips to be distorted under some conditions.
v2010.102 11/20/09 Low v2010.102 adds canvas mirror borders/edges to the Studio Edition.  See the help under "Qimage Functions", "Borders" for more info.
v2010.101 11/11/09 Low v2010.101 eliminates a "file is in use by another process" error caused by Windows 7 and/or Windows Media Player 12 "stepping on" files momentarily, immediately after they are created.
